Converged Access Edge Platform (CAEP) is a light-weight 5G MEC management software, composed of Edge Controller and Edge Node. This platform is a part of the 5G MEC solution, which provides the visualized web management user interface to make it easier to maintain. It aims to assist AIoT application system integrators to easily transfer existing application services from the cloud to the edge.
I am responsible for designing this platform which comprises different requirements from various development teams. My approach was defined complete design guidelines to ensure the function consistency while conveying the high performance and informative of the system.
Converged Access Edge Platform (CAEP) 為一個多功能且輕量化的邊緣運算管理平台，由邊緣控制器（Edge Controller）和邊緣節點（Edge Node）組成。此平台為5G MEC解決方案中的一部分，旨在提供可視化管理介面，讓AIoT系統維運能更快速的部屬邊緣應用於平台上。
平台設計的重點在於需要整合來自非常多不同、且來自各開發部門的功能需求。因此利用UI Guidelines將系統完善的規劃，讓使用者的使用行為、介面的設計皆能在系統平台中達成一致性，是此次專案最需要注意的地方。

The Opportunity
System integrator (SI) were looking for new products to create new business in the 5G market, also needs a platform which can support their existing applications migration to virtualized platforms and runs smoothly in future 5G networks.
They usually has only strong knowhow for specific domains (smart factory or smart hospital), and owns his application or has several application partners in selected vertical domains.
The opportunity here is to provide an integrated software for SI who is not familiar with virtualization technology, wireless architecture, low level OS tuning or AI accelerator/toolkit knowhow.

UI designer, working with MEC project team includes project manager, front-end engineer, RD and SQA team.

/ Design the high-fidelity design components and mockups
/ Closely collaborated with development team to ensure the functionality and performance of the product

In order to prevent user getting lost and make software easier to maintain, we built the UI guidelines base on the product blueprint and wireframe by project manager.

We use simple and calm design while conveying the image of the corporation.
